Nostalgia 1: Welcome to Technology

Technology. What is technology? For me, it is somehow concerned with the development and advancement of human lives. Something to ease our way and provide as with anew. Computers, cellphones and other electronic gadgets are some of the examples of technology. It is the creation and also an innovation, that is technology.

At first, I was not sure about taking a course that concerns in anything but technology. I am in fact, laid back in such things. The only thing I used sufficiently is the computer. And for everyone's information, I got my cellphone just this May. It is my first cellphone ever. I have went through so much trouble because of that cellphone since I'm not really used to it. Well, duh? Anyway, I was supposed to take architecture in UST; but because of certain circumstances, like: "A school with frequent flood; and thus, no classes." and "Too long for you to graduate", so yeah, I ended up in La Salle since my auntie told me that my course was great and it will only take me three years to graduate, so yeah, I was persuaded a little bit. But then, hearing news about its demand made me quite determined to take-up the course. I told myself, "It's not really bad after all...". Although I was nonetheless clueless in the newest technology there is, I ended up in this course.

As my first day started, I was more or less wondering what kind of subject is INTRICT. Then, my question was answered, first thing our teacher explained to us. For a long version, It is the Introduction to Information Communication Technology. In this course, we are going to tackle the newest of technology, what is our contribution to it, and how are we going to manage it. So yeah, the course is more or less like that.

Then after much of the discussions, about internet and mobile devices, how they are the means of communication and their interesting features. The truth was, I was not at least bit interested in such thing. But then, you just got to listen. After some discussion, our prof told us to have a gmail account and a blog. I know, gmail? What the heck is that? Yeah, it was my first impression. Well, I'm an obedient student and followed the instruction of our teacher. At first, I wasn't really amazed and a bit interested in gmail; but the next day, it all came into me. "GMAIL ROCKS!!!" Our teacher explained its features, and well, I was pretty much amazed. Who thought that a boring search engine held such thing. Who would ever thought? of course except our prof and the other people who knows about it. But well, it really made me interested in technology. With it's calendars, bookmarks, documents, and settings, you just can't missed it, especially the calendar. It is really beneficial in setting appointments and all. It even can call you to remind of you of your schedule. That was really convenient, and somehow, interesting.

From uncertainty to excitement, I am now convinced that ICTM was the best choice for me. My innocence in technology will be replaced with knowledge, hopefully. Like the google, people might think I'm plain, but after a little upgrade, I will surely improve and surpass everyone's expectation, for now, I am more than interested and determined to be someone who can make people's lives easier.

If we have the vision we can surely make it...Let's find the missing puzzle of life...

Technology is so much fun but we can drown in our technology. The fog of information can drive out knowledge.
