Nostalgia 3: The Difference

Photobucket

Sir Oli told us that being in the college of computer science means a lot of hard-work and persistence. Especially, when you are in La Salle that is a trimestal system- everything is in fast pace. We ICTM people belong to these fast pace people with a very stressing field of study, so it only means that we really need to strive harder than anyone else.

Anyway, let's get on with the topic the last week :p...coz I just update now...awts...So... an ICTM Professionals( also called System Professionals) are responsible for the ff.

  • Data Capture
  • Data Storage
  • Data and Information Access
  • Information Processing
  • Presentation of Information
ICTM Professionals should be...

  • Master of technology
  • Master of Human Systems
  • Master of Designing andImplementation of Integrating technology into Human System

*Sir Oli even discussed as about what's the difference of ICTM people to the CCS people, though we all know that their course is much harder, I think...Well, our main difference with the computer science people, as Sir Oli told us, is that we are the ones responsible in making cool programs for the people :D So we shouldn't care less of the knowledge the CCS people has since we just used them for the programs that we make :P So, if any CCS people ask uc about something we really don't know...Just tell them as Sir Oli said : "We don't care!" Wuhahaha! :D "Jus do your thing so we could use them to do oru thing!" That's all...end of blog

Nostalgia 2: The Future Awaits

Can you believe that such thing as microsoft surface exist? Really, I have no clue that such thing exist until this week. It was... undeniably...so...cool!!! Just knowing such thing exist makes you wonder of what the future holds. That microsoft surface is just like water when you touch it. Like the host said, "It is touching water without getting wet." It's features was awesome! It functions as both computer and table that you can put anything on it. The cool thing was, it can give you information about the object you put on it. It's also convenient in transferring files using cellphones. Really, it is so unbelievable that it can became reality. Another cool advertisement was about a computer that can response via voice. I guess, I was late coz it was already available years ago...But still, it is so convenient! They also shown how people can work together in a project, and FYI, a video project.

If they can make something like those; then, there are surely much more we can make and improve. Watching the future plans of Microsoft was surely motivating. My doubts about my abilities has been replaced by excitement and determination to make something like that and even better.

Humans' abilities are limitless...There's no such boundaries in acquiring knowledge; there is only fear in acquiring it...

Nostalgia 1: Welcome to Technology

Technology. What is technology? For me, it is somehow concerned with the development and advancement of human lives. Something to ease our way and provide as with anew. Computers, cellphones and other electronic gadgets are some of the examples of technology. It is the creation and also an innovation, that is technology.

At first, I was not sure about taking a course that concerns in anything but technology. I am in fact, laid back in such things. The only thing I used sufficiently is the computer. And for everyone's information, I got my cellphone just this May. It is my first cellphone ever. I have went through so much trouble because of that cellphone since I'm not really used to it. Well, duh? Anyway, I was supposed to take architecture in UST; but because of certain circumstances, like: "A school with frequent flood; and thus, no classes." and "Too long for you to graduate", so yeah, I ended up in La Salle since my auntie told me that my course was great and it will only take me three years to graduate, so yeah, I was persuaded a little bit. But then, hearing news about its demand made me quite determined to take-up the course. I told myself, "It's not really bad after all...". Although I was nonetheless clueless in the newest technology there is, I ended up in this course.

As my first day started, I was more or less wondering what kind of subject is INTRICT. Then, my question was answered, first thing our teacher explained to us. For a long version, It is the Introduction to Information Communication Technology. In this course, we are going to tackle the newest of technology, what is our contribution to it, and how are we going to manage it. So yeah, the course is more or less like that.

Then after much of the discussions, about internet and mobile devices, how they are the means of communication and their interesting features. The truth was, I was not at least bit interested in such thing. But then, you just got to listen. After some discussion, our prof told us to have a gmail account and a blog. I know, gmail? What the heck is that? Yeah, it was my first impression. Well, I'm an obedient student and followed the instruction of our teacher. At first, I wasn't really amazed and a bit interested in gmail; but the next day, it all came into me. "GMAIL ROCKS!!!" Our teacher explained its features, and well, I was pretty much amazed. Who thought that a boring search engine held such thing. Who would ever thought? of course except our prof and the other people who knows about it. But well, it really made me interested in technology. With it's calendars, bookmarks, documents, and settings, you just can't missed it, especially the calendar. It is really beneficial in setting appointments and all. It even can call you to remind of you of your schedule. That was really convenient, and somehow, interesting.

From uncertainty to excitement, I am now convinced that ICTM was the best choice for me. My innocence in technology will be replaced with knowledge, hopefully. Like the google, people might think I'm plain, but after a little upgrade, I will surely improve and surpass everyone's expectation, for now, I am more than interested and determined to be someone who can make people's lives easier.

If we have the vision we can surely make it...Let's find the missing puzzle of life...

Technology is so much fun but we can drown in our technology. The fog of information can drive out knowledge.
